Here at Leonardo Hotels we need people like you, who want to start an exciting career in Hospitality! Not everyone has the experience to get their first Hospitality role and that is why we have developed our Leo Apprenticeship programme to help.

We are looking for people who have either finished school or are looking to retrain into Hospitality as we have a range of programmes ready to support you. As a Leo Apprentice you would be employed full-time whilst completing your learning during working hours. You’re earning as you’re learning!

LEO KITCHEN APPRENTICESHIP

In our kitchens you will find friendly and supportive teams that will help you succeed. Our Leo Kitchen Apprentices will complete the Food Production apprenticeship; you will learn all about how a commercial kitchen operates and gain lots of new cooking skills along the way.

LEO FRONT OFFICE APPRENTICESHIP

Our Leo Front Office Apprenticeship will set you up for success at our front desk in a Receptionist role. The apprenticeship we offer is Hospitality Team Member - Reception Route; you will gain an understanding of our reservations system as well as the importance of delivering excellent service with our in-house “Come Join Us” Guest Care Training.

LEO FOOD AND BEVERAGE APPRENTICESHIP

Food and Beverage is a fast-paced and exciting department! Our Leo Food and Beverage Apprenticeship will see you working across all Food & Beverage departments from breakfast to events. The apprenticeship we offer here is Hospitality Team Member - Food Service Route with a specific focus on delivering our company guest care vision of being the first choice for everyone who values genuine hospitality.

LEO HOUSEKEEPING APPRENTICESHIP

The Housekeeping department is the heart of any hotel team; they ensure the operation is running smoothly! It is a physical and rewarding role, as not only will you maintain the high cleanliness standards of the hotel, but you will also be empowered to go one step ahead to make our guests’ stay a memorable one. The apprenticeship we offer here is the Hospitality Team Member – Housekeeping Route.

LEO MANAGEMENT APPRENTICESHIP

Have you got what it takes to be a leader in our business? We offer higher level management apprenticeships to those who wish to develop their management and leadership skills to progress in their careers with us. As a Leo Management Apprentice, you will need to have previous experience within Hospitality and some supervisory skills to start you off on the right track.

Frequently Asked Questions

Apprenticeships are great for people who like to ‘learn by doing’, as apprenticeships are very practical and hands on. You will gain new skills and knowledge, which you will then use as evidence towards your qualification.

You will also complete English and Maths as part of your programme, and work towards an end-point assessment as a final programme sign off. This is not as daunting as it sounds! You just must show what you have learned to achieve a recognised national standard.

Rather than the national apprenticeship rate, you will be paid the national minimum wage for your age group.

Apprenticeships are open to people of all ages, but they are funding dependant.

  • You must have stayed in the UK for at least 3 years
  • You cannot have a qualification in the same subject at the same level as the apprenticeship you are applying for
  • In some circumstances there might not be specific funding available, but we can help you look into this when you apply

Hospitality is a varied and dynamic industry! There is scope to progress quickly in management and the ability to transfer through various departments to gain new skills and knowledge. You could also progress into a central function; including HR, Revenue, Finance, Sales and Marketing.
